MTV will be packing up its longtime studio home overlooking New York’s Times Square!
It's going down at the end of the year, The New York Post reported on Today.
Allegedly, Viacom (the parent company of MTV), opted NOT to renew its studio lease when it extended the lease on more than 1 million square feet of offices at 1515 Broadway, between 44th and 45th streets, last year.
“We’re taking it back from MTV at end of year,” SL Green Leasing Director Steven Durels told The Post. “We’re actively marketing it, and we think it will be the crowning touch of the retail development we’ve done since we bought the building…”
Durels said the 22,216-square-foot, second-floor studio — opened in 1997 — will likely be used as a store or for another “broadcast use.”
