VH1 announced that the VH1 Divas series will be making a triumpjant return to TV this fall.
September 17th marks the shows reprise after a hiatus of 4 years. The special will air live from the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Divas executive producer Lee Rolontz was quoted as saying that:
Over the years, we've received constant calls and emails asking us to bring back our 'Divas' show. Now more than ever, the time feels right to re-launch this beloved show as a new generation of talented female artists has come to the forefront of music… We've heard our viewers, and we promise to deliver a live show that will generate the same 'Divas' excitement as in the past — while also infusing some new twists along the way.
Past Diva legends on the special included Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey, Diana Ross, Whitney Houston, and Tina Turner to name a few.
So what Divas you ask are performing THIS year?!
Well, VH1 is wanted you feedback and opinion on who should perform. VH1 has opened up voting on their website to decide which of your diva picks should take part in the 2009 show.
